Settings overview

A map of Hoursmith settings — what lives in workspace settings versus your personal account settings, and who can change each.

Hoursmith keeps settings in two separate places, and knowing which is which saves a lot of hunting:

  • Workspace settings (/settings/*) affect everyone in the workspace — your branding, invoice defaults, billing, email, and the like. Most are limited to Owner and Admin.
  • Account settings (/account/*) are personal to you and follow you across every workspace you belong to — your profile, preferences, security, and notification choices. Anyone can change their own.

Workspace settings

These belong to the workspace. Changing them changes the experience for the whole team.

Workspace settings are managed by Owner and Admin. Managers and Members won't see most of these pages. The Danger zone is Owner-only.

Account settings

These are yours alone. They apply to you in every workspace you're a member of.

Switching between the workspaces you belong to is an account action — find it under Your profile.
