Accounts, workspaces, and extension settings
Switch workspaces, connect another Hoursmith account, change the extension theme, or disconnect a browser device safely.
One Chrome profile can keep approved connections to multiple Hoursmith workspaces, including workspaces reached through different Hoursmith accounts.
The current-account card, direct popup/menu settings actions, and Use a different account flow on this page require Hoursmith for Chrome 0.3.0 or later.
Open Account and extension settings
- In the toolbar popup, choose the account icon. Its tooltip includes the current account email.
- In the side panel, open the command menu and choose Account and extension settings.
The settings page shows the current account's name and email, all connected workspaces, appearance, privacy boundaries, and a link to manage devices in Hoursmith.
Switch workspaces
Use the workspace switcher in the popup or side-panel header. Timer, cache, queue, conflict, search, and summary state changes to the selected workspace and its exact browser-device grant.
Connect another workspace or account
Choose the account path
In settings, choose Connect another workspace to use the displayed account, or Use a different account to open the Hoursmith account chooser.
Verify the identity
The Hoursmith approval page shows the signed-in name and email. Switch again if it is not the identity you intended.
Approve one workspace
Select the workspace and choose Connect workspace. Your existing connections stay in place.
Disconnect a workspace
In Connected workspaces, choose Disconnect and confirm the named workspace. Disconnecting:
- revokes that browser-device authorization on Hoursmith;
- clears that connection's credentials and cached workspace data;
- removes its pending page capture and queued offline timer/note actions; and
- removes its crash-recovery markers.
It does not delete saved tasks, time entries, expenses, invoices, or other workspace records.
You can also go to Account → Security → Extension devices in the web app and revoke an active device remotely. Its next extension request fails. If you still control the Chrome profile, use the extension's own Disconnect action as well to clear its local connection data immediately.
Appearance
Choose Use system theme, Light, or Dark. The extension also supports keyboard focus, reduced motion, increased contrast, and Windows forced-color settings.
Tasks and current-page capture
Work with assigned tasks and turn an explicitly captured page into a reviewed Hoursmith task, time entry, expense, client, or project.
Offline behavior, privacy, and security
