Hoursmith for Chrome
Keep Hoursmith timers, assigned tasks, quick capture, and workspace search beside the page you are working on.
Hoursmith for Chrome is a focused companion to the Hoursmith web app. Use its toolbar popup for fast timer actions or keep the side panel open beside your work for time, assigned tasks, quick capture, and workspace search.

You need Google Chrome 120 or newer, an Hoursmith account, and access to at least one team workspace. The extension is included on every Hoursmith plan with no separate subscription.
Install Hoursmith from the Chrome Web Store, or read the public feature overview.
Chrome Web Store publication happens separately from the product source. The unified searchable
fields, direct account/settings controls, and account-aware approval flows documented here require
Hoursmith for Chrome 0.3.0 or later. If your interface differs, open chrome://extensions and
check the installed version; those controls appear only after 0.3 is published and Chrome updates it.
What you can do
Track time
Start a timer, update its note, log manual time, and review recent entries.
Work with tasks
Review assigned work, update supported fields, and start a task timer.
Capture the current page
Review an explicit, temporary page preview before saving anything.
Search your workspace
Open accessible clients, projects, tasks, time, expenses, and invoices in the web app.
Use more than one workspace
Switch connections or authorize another workspace or account without reinstalling.
Keep timer actions resilient
Queue bounded timer actions during a brief connection loss and review conflicts.
The same Hoursmith rules
The extension works with the same records as the web app; it does not create a separate copy of your workspace. Your role, Member project access, task billability, timer safeguards, invoice locks, plan entitlements, and workspace security rules remain authoritative.
For example, Members never receive Manager-only client or financial summaries, and recurring-invoice summaries still require their normal Studio or Agency access.
The extension is not a replacement for the full web app. Build and send invoices, manage payments, run reports and exports, import data, and change administrative settings in Hoursmith on the web.
What it does not do
Hoursmith for Chrome does not provide automatic time tracking, idle detection, full offline editing, a client-portal identity, AI tools, or background browsing-history collection. It currently supports Google Chrome 120+; dedicated Firefox, Safari, Edge, mobile, and desktop-app builds are not promised.
