Hoursmith for Chrome

Install and connect Hoursmith for Chrome

Install the Chrome extension, approve a browser device, and connect your first Hoursmith workspace.

Install the reviewed public extension from the Chrome Web Store, then approve the specific Hoursmith workspace this browser should use.

Role
OwnerAdminManagerMember

Use Google Chrome 120 or newer. You must sign in with an Hoursmith team account that belongs to at least one active workspace.

Install from the Chrome Web Store

Pin Hoursmith (optional)

Open Chrome's extensions menu and pin Hoursmith if you want one-click toolbar access.

Start the connection

Open the Hoursmith toolbar popup and choose Connect Hoursmith. Chrome opens a secure Hoursmith approval window.

Choose a workspace

Sign in to Hoursmith if asked, select one workspace from the memberships shown, review the device notice, and choose Connect workspace. The extension receives only the access your existing role permits.

The toolbar popup may close while Chrome moves focus to the approval window. The connection continues in the background; reopen the popup to see its progress or result.

Account-aware approval in 0.3.0 and later

The updated approval page shows the current account's name and email before you select a workspace. If it is not the account you want, choose Use a different account and sign in again.

If the account has no workspace

The approval page offers three useful paths instead of an empty selector:

  • Create a workspace, then return to the pending connection;
  • Use a different account that already has workspace access; or
  • Cancel the request.

Connect another workspace later

You do not need to reinstall. In version 0.3.0 and later, open Account and extension settings, then choose Connect another workspace for the current account or Use a different account. Existing connections remain until you explicitly disconnect them.

Approval is tied to this browser device and workspace. Hoursmith does not give the extension your password or a permanent API token. You can revoke the device from Account → Security at any time.
