A member can't see a project
Members only see projects they're added to. Add them on the project's Members tab, or assign them a task to auto-add them.
If a teammate with the Member role says a project is missing, it's almost certainly project scoping doing its job. Members see a deliberately narrow slice of the workspace.
Most likely cause
Members only see projects they've been added to. If nobody added them to the project, it simply won't appear for them. Project scoping like this applies only to Members — Owners, Admins, and Managers see all projects.
How to check
- Confirm their role. This only affects Member. If they're a Manager or above, project access isn't the issue.
- Check the project's Members tab. Open the project and see whether the person is listed under Members.
How to fix
Add them on the Members tab
Open the project, go to the Members tab, and add the person. They'll see the project right away.
Or assign them a task
Assigning the member a task on the project auto-adds them to the project — handy when you're delegating work anyway.
Owners, Admins, and Managers already see every project, so you only need to add Members explicitly.
Still stuck?
If a Member is on the project's Members tab and still can't see it, email hi@hoursmith.app. More on scoping in Project access.
I can't edit a time entry
Seeing "Invoiced time entries are locked"? The entry is on an invoice. Remove it from the invoice to release and edit it.
A member can't see invoices
This is by design — Members are money-blind and have no access to invoices, amounts, rates, expenses, or clients. Give them Manager+ if they need it.
