I didn't receive an email
Verification, password-reset, invite, or client magic-link email not arriving? Check spam, confirm the address, and request a fresh link — links expire.
If an account email isn't showing up, it's usually sitting in spam, going to the wrong address, or the link has already expired. Here's how to track it down.
Most likely cause
Signup verification, password-reset, team invite, and client-portal magic-link emails all send from the platform default sender. The most common reasons one doesn't arrive are that it landed in spam, the email address is wrong, or the link expired before you opened it (verification links last 24 hours; magic links are short-lived).
How to check
- Spam and filters. Search your spam, promotions, and "all mail" folders for the sender.
- Right address? Confirm the email was sent to the address you're checking — a small typo at signup or on the invite is easy to miss.
- Already expired? If the email is old, the link inside may no longer work — you'll need a fresh one.
- Magic link specifically. The client-portal magic-link page is non-enumerating — it always shows the same neutral confirmation, even when no email goes out. So "I got the confirmation but no email" can simply mean that address isn't an enabled client contact.
How to fix
Request a fresh link
Verification and magic links expire, so request a new one rather than reusing an old email. For sign-in verification, just attempt to sign in again to trigger a new link (about one per minute).
Fix the address and resend invites
For a teammate who never got their invite, go to Settings → Team, where you can resend or revoke the invite. If the address was wrong, revoke and re-invite with the correct one.
Confirm the client contact for magic links
If a client says their magic link never arrived, make sure their email is an enabled client contact — the page won't tell you it's missing. Add or enable the contact, then have them request the link again.
Add the platform sender to your contacts or safe-senders list so future verification and reset emails skip the spam folder.
