Dashboard
Your role-aware home screen. Owners, Admins, and Managers see KPIs and list cards; Members see a focused view of their own work.
The Dashboard at /dashboard is the first thing you see when you open Hoursmith. It's
role-aware: the manage tier (Owner, Admin, Manager) gets a workspace-wide view with money and
team activity, while Members get a focused view of their own work.

- StudioAgency
The Dashboard is part of the Reports area, which requires the reports entitlement on Studio and Agency. What you see depends on your role.
Where to find it
Open Dashboard from the sidebar, or go to /dashboard.
The manage-tier dashboard
If you're an Owner, Admin, or Manager, your dashboard shows KPIs plus a set of list cards:
- Recent invoices — your latest invoices and their status.
- Ready to invoice — clients with unbilled billable time, plus the amount an invoice would bill.
- Top clients this month — your highest-value clients for the current month.
- Tasks due soon — upcoming task due dates across the workspace.
- Recent time — the latest time entries.
- Team this week — tracked hours per member for the current week.
The Member dashboard
If you're a Member, your dashboard is scoped to your own data and contains no amounts:
- Open tasks KPI — a breakdown of open, due this week, and overdue.
- Your recent time — the time entries you've logged.
- Tasks due soon — your upcoming due dates.
How figures are calculated
Overdue is always derived, never stored — it's recalculated each time you load the page, so it's accurate the moment you open the dashboard. The same is true for the "ready to invoice" amount, which reflects current billable, un-invoiced time.
Members never see amounts or rates on the dashboard (or anywhere else). The "Ready to invoice", "Top clients", and "Team this week" cards appear only on the manage-tier dashboard. See Money visibility by role.
Tips
- Use Ready to invoice as your billing to-do list: each entry is a client you can turn into an invoice in a couple of clicks. See Create an invoice.
- Watch Team this week to spot who's tracked time and who hasn't yet.
