Tasks

Due dates and priorities

Set a task's priority, due/start/end dates, an estimate, and free-text tags to keep work organized and scheduled.

Tasks carry scheduling and organization fields — a priority, a few dates, an estimate, and tags. You set them in the task form or drawer.

Before you start
Role
OwnerAdminManagerMember

Editing these fields is open to the manage tier or the assigned Member.

Where to find it

Open a task (click it for the drawer, or open its edit page) and set the fields below.

Priority

Pick one of three priorities:

  • Low
  • Medium (default)
  • High

Dates

All dates are optional and date-only:

  • Due date
  • Start date
  • End date

The start date must be on or before the end date — Hoursmith enforces this.

Estimate

Add an Estimate in hours to capture how long you expect the task to take.

Tags

Add free-text tags as chips to group and filter tasks. The maximum is 20 tags per task.

Set them

Click the task for its drawer, or open its edit page.

Fill in the fields

Set the priority, any dates, the estimate, and tags.

Save

Save the task.
