Edit & delete time entries

Fix or remove time entries on your timesheet. Members manage their own un-invoiced entries; managers edit any. Reassigning is Owner/Admin only.

Made a typo or logged the wrong project? Edit or delete an entry from the timesheet. What you can change depends on your role and whether the entry has been invoiced.

Members can edit or delete only their own un-invoiced entries. Managers, Admins, and Owners can edit any entry. Reassigning an entry to a different person is Owner/Admin only.

Edit an entry

Open the entry

On the timesheet, click the entry you want to change.

Update the fields

Adjust the project, task, date, duration, note, or billable toggle. Durations follow the same duration formats.

Save

Save your changes. The timesheet totals update right away.

Delete an entry

Open the entry and choose Delete, then confirm. Deleting removes it from your timesheet and from your totals.

Locked (invoiced) entries

Once an entry has been added to an invoice it is locked. Trying to edit or delete it returns "Invoiced time entries are locked". To change locked time, you must first release it by cancelling or deleting the invoice. See Invoiced & locked time.

Need to change many entries at once — say flip a batch to non-billable? Use Bulk edit instead of opening them one by one.

Troubleshooting

  • "Invoiced time entries are locked". The entry is on an invoice. Cancel or delete that invoice to release it. See Invoiced & locked time.
  • I can't edit a teammate's entry. Editing others' entries needs Manager and up; reassigning needs Owner/Admin.
  • I can only edit some of my entries. Invoiced entries are locked even when they're yours.
