Bulk edit time entries
Select many entries on the timesheet to set billable status or delete them in one go. Up to 200 per operation; locked rows are skipped and reported.
When you need to change a lot of entries at once, bulk actions on the timesheet save you from editing them one at a time.

The same permissions as single edits apply: Members can act on their own un-invoiced entries; Managers and up can act on any entry. See Edit & delete.
Bulk edit entries
Select entries
On the timesheet, multi-select the entries you want to change.
Choose an action
Pick a bulk action:
- Bulk set billable — mark the selection billable or non-billable.
- Bulk delete — remove the selected entries.
Confirm
Confirm the action. Hoursmith applies it to every eligible row in your selection.
Limits and skipped rows
- You can act on up to 200 entries per operation. Select fewer if you have more than that.
- Rows that can't be changed are skipped and reported, while the rest commit. A row is
skipped when it is:
- locked (already on an invoice),
- outside your permissions, or
- not found (e.g. deleted in another tab).
A bulk action never fails all-or-nothing. Eligible entries are updated and you get a summary of any that were skipped and why.
What happens next
Your timesheet and its summary tiles update immediately. If you bulk-changed billable status, the affected time is now included in (or excluded from) what an invoice can pull.
Troubleshooting
- Some rows were skipped. Those entries are locked, beyond your permissions, or no longer exist. Locked entries live on invoices — see Invoiced & locked time.
- My selection was too big. Operations cap at 200 entries. Split into smaller batches.
Edit & delete time entries
Fix or remove time entries on your timesheet. Members manage their own un-invoiced entries; managers edit any. Reassigning is Owner/Admin only.
Billable vs non-billable
Every time entry carries a billable flag. Reports and invoices split on it, and only billable time can be invoiced.
